The Monthly Sunday School Challenge.
Every month I will announce the challenge. More than likely, it will correspond to some special day or church activity for the month. For instance, our first challenge will focus on the Day of Pentecost.
The Day of Pentecost happens on Sunday, May 31. This is the day when we remember the gift of the Holy Spirit given to all of us. Some also refer to this as the birthday of the church. The church typically has a special service with bright red colors representing the fire from heaven and a dove representing the Holy Spirit. It recounts the story in Acts 2.
Here is the challenge—create a drawing or some type of representation of the Day of Pentecost. You can draw, use tissue paper or anything that will convey what this day represents in the life of the church. Make sure to use bright red colors, or even streamers and maybe draw a dove. You have until May 29 to make your creation, take a pic of it and text it or email it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will make a cool presentation of all the entries.
Here are some resources for this week:
The believers met together in the Temple every day. They ate together in their homes, happy to share their food with joyful hearts.
While we are unable to meet in our church building we can still be 'Together at Home'. In our continued effort to provide at home resources for and activities for families, these resources can be shared with your family to help explore the Bible and learn about God together while in your own home.
Our prayer is that we continue to grow together in faith and love as we celebrate God and learn about faith from our homes with our families until we can join one another again in corporate worship.
Please feel free to contact me (email@example.com) with any questions, concerns or just to talk. I miss seeing each of you and anticipate our coming together again as a faith community in one place. Peace!!!
